Payment and cancellation
Not yet published, because these must be your real terms. One thing is already fixed by the authorities: gorilla permits are paid in full at booking and are not transferable.
What is already determined
These come from the park authorities rather than from us, and no operator can vary them.
- Gorilla permits are paid in full at the time of booking. Uganda withdrew its seven-day reservation hold in March 2026.
- Permits are tied to a named person and a named date and are not transferable.
- Discounted low-season permits — USD 600 in April, May and November — cannot be rescheduled.
- The Uganda Wildlife Authority and the Rwanda Development Board set their own positions on refunds and date changes, and revise them periodically. We state the terms applying to your booking in writing at the time of booking.
Our terms not yet supplied
Deposit percentage, balance due date, accepted payment methods, bank or card handling, currency, and the cancellation scale must all be supplied and drafted with legal advice. These are commercial and legal decisions, not something to be filled in with industry-standard figures.
What this page needs to cover
- Deposit amount or percentage, and when it is due
- Balance due date relative to departure
- Accepted payment methods, currency, and who bears transfer charges
- Cancellation scale by notice period
- Explicit treatment of the permit element, which behaves differently from the rest of the booking
- Amendment fees
- What happens if a park authority changes permit or park fee tariffs between booking and travel
- Refund method and timescale
Travel insurance
Whatever these terms end up saying, insurance is the practical protection on this trip. A permit is USD 800 to USD 1,500 per person, non-transferable, and in the discounted months not reschedulable under any circumstances. Take a policy covering non-refundable elements, and take it at the point of booking rather than later.
This page needs expansion before launch
Deposit, balance, payment methods and cancellation scale must be supplied and legally drafted. The site should not accept bookings until this page is complete.
