Did you know that there are no gorillas in Kenya or Tanzania? Thus a Kenya Gorilla Trekking Safari would be impossible without a visit to Uganda, Rwanda or Congo. These shy gentle giants can only be seen on a visit to Uganda, in the eminent Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, dating back to over 25,000 years of existence. The forest’s dense greenery spread across the park’s mist-covered hillsides is a home to an estimate 400 mountain gorillas, which is more than half of the world’s population of these endangered species.

Basically from Entebbe to access Bwindi it’s a Drive of over 10 hours on the road. But with our 4 Days Flying Gorilla tracking safari in Uganda, you will have to save lots of stress on the road and only fly for 2 hours and 3 minutes. It’s an incredibly fantastic and fun experience with lots of aerial views of the majestic Bwindi forest.

Day 1Arrive, Later transfer to your Hotel

After arriving Entebbe International Airport, you will clear with immigration, proceed to the arrivals where you will meet your driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel for overnight stay.

Accommodation: Protea Hotel by Marriott Entebbe (High-end Accommodation) or The Boma Guest House (Medium Accommodation).

Day 2Domestic flight from Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip

You have an early morning breakfast at your hotel, proceed to Entebbe International Airport at 6.00am to catch your domestic flight to Kisoro Airstrip. An Aerolink member of staff will assist you with the check in and transfer  you to domestic flight to either Kisoro or Kihihi airstrip.

You then have to enjoy a scenic flight, upon arrival you will be transfer by our representative who will be waiting for you at the Airfield and drop you to the lodge. You can choose to engage in an optional afternoon community walk!

Day 3Gorilla tracking expedition in Bwindi Forest

The second day of your Bwindi gorilla tracking Uganda safari starts with a very early breakfast before you head out to the park headquarters at around 7:00am. You will be briefed about the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ while on a gorilla trekking excursion.

You will then hit the trails with a team of professional guides and trackers. A typical gorilla trekking excursion lasts between 2 – 8 hours. Hiking through the beaten trails in search of the potent giants is exerting but greatly rewarding.

Once you encounter a gorilla family, you will spend an hour observing its members; how the domineering male silverback (head of the family) displays his authority and ability. Besides the males, you will also see the caring mothers tending to their little ones; feeding some, rubbing a few, carrying others and keeping a watchful eye on those playing in the trees. You will be allowed to take photos of the experience.

Day 4Fly to Entebbe and depart

Early in the morning after breakfast we drive you down to airstrip to depart for Entebbe. Upon arrival in Entebbe, we will have a room ready for you at any hotel in Entebbe in case you have a late flight  to freshen up and to have lunch and dinner before we transfer you to the airport for your departure flight back home.
