Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most popular tourist destination. The famous park is a gem in Uganda’s tourist attractions – your 3 days safari will be an unforgettable experience. The park’s diverse ecosystems comprising of its savannahs, thick forests, fresh water lakes, craters, and fertile wetlands.

These offer a conducive environment and habitat to over 95 mammals including the classic big game, 10 primate species including the endangered chimpanzees, 600 bird species and various kinds of floral and plant life. The 3 days Queen Elizabeth National Park safari is the ideal getaway for the avid nature lover.

Itinerary

Day 1Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your 3 days Queen Elizabeth National Park safari will begin with one of our expert driver-guides picking you from any location within Kampala as early as 8:00 am. You will then set off for the Western region, Queen Elizabeth National Park is approximately 400 kilometres by road, south-west of Kampala. Your journey to the park will not be a boring one; you will stop briefly at the equator in Kayabwe, along Kampala – Masaka road.

You will arrive at Uganda’s prized Queen Elizabeth National Park in the late afternoon. Before checking in at your lodge, you will embark on your first game drive along the channel drive circuit, following the Northern shore of the Kazinga channel.

Day 2Game Drive in the Park and a Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

The second day of your Queen Elizabeth National Park safari will begin with a game drive at 6:30am after an early breakfast. You will head out to the renowned Kasenyi plains with an experienced game ranger. The plains are a mass of African savannah known for harbouring the largest concentration of game as compared to any other section in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Later in the afternoon, you will set out for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. You get to sit back and enjoy the sight of elephants, buffalo, bushbucks, kobs and large herds of hippos on the riverbanks. Occasionally, visitors are able to spot leopards, lions and forest hogs. Besides the various mammals, the channel is a habitat for various species of water birds.

Day 3Visit Kyambura Gorge and the Katwe Crater Lakes – drive back to Kampala

On the last day of your Queen Elizabeth National Park safari, you will have an early breakfast and head out of your lodge with a packed lunch and all your belongings. You will then head out to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee trekking.

Before leaving the park, you will pay a brief visit to the Katwe crater lakes – a cluster of 10 lakes formed from extinct volcanoes. You will then embark on your journey back to Kampala, arriving in late evening.
