Days 1Arrival at Nairobi

Your 12 days safari adventure will begin with an experienced driver – guide picking you up upon arrival at Airport. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Days 2Nairobi - Masai Mara

Travel from Nairobi, through the Great Rift Valley on to Kenya’s premier wildlife reserve. In the afternoon, arrive in the area and get settled at the safari camp, our base for our time here.

Head out for a late afternoon wildlife safari drive with excellent chances of seeing the “big five” — watch for lion, cheetah, buffalo, elephant and giraffe. The varied wildlife and natural environment come together to provide a spectacular safari experience.

Days 3The Masai Mara Plains

Opt to go for a balloon safari for a new perspective over the beautiful landscape. Pre-book on the checkout page to include this optional activity on your tour.

Day 4Transfer to Nairobi

Enjoy one more safari drive in the Masai Mara. Visit the G for Good supported Ubuntu Cafe for lunch, before heading back to Nairobi. In Nairobi there’s some time to buy local handicrafts or check out a bit of the city.

Day 5Fly to Entebbe

Travel from one bustling East African capital city to another. Relax in Kampala and await the second part of this epic adventure.

Day 6Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, drive south west of Uganda to the town of Fort Portal and then proceed to Kibale Forest National Park. Lunch en-route. Arrive at Kibale forest in the evening and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 7Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

After an early breakfast, you’ll have briefing session the park officials and later set off to the rainforest on the chimpanzee tracking adventures. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening, we organize the Bigodi swamp walk.

Bigodi Swamp is popular with many swamp endemic birds like pelicans, herons, collared apallis, bee eater, Narina trogon, black capped apallis, yellow spotted nicator, blue headed sunbird, woodland warbler and more. The swamp is also a major livelihood for the local community through tourism and crafts.

Day 8Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park is characterized by open savannah, large areas of swamp around Lake George, the extensive Maramagambo Forest in the southeast, and the forested Kyambura Gorge along the border with Kyambura Game Reserve.

Day 9Game drive in Kasenyi plains – boat cruise on Kazinga channel

Your Magical Mother Nature safari excursion in Queen Elizabeth will begin with a game drive at 6:30am after an early breakfast. You will head out to the famous Kasenyi plains with an experienced game ranger. The plains are a mass of African savannah known for harbouring the largest concentration of game as compared to any other section in the Queen Elizabeth Park. Besides being a habitat to big game and predators, the plains harbour various species of wetland birds.

You will head back to your lodge in the early afternoon to have a family lunch before setting out for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. The launch cruise along the channel is one of the most popular excursions in the Park. You get to sit back and enjoy the sight of elephants, buffalo, bushbucks, kobs and large herds of hippos on the riverbanks.

Occasionally, visitors are able to spot leopards, lions and forest hogs. Besides the various mammals, the channel is a habitat for various species of water birds.

Day 10Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – drive through Ishasha region

After having breakfast, the family will embark on a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through Queen Elizabeth’s famous Ishasha region – the home of the tree-climbing lions. As you drive through Ishasha, you will be amazed at the sight of the peculiar lions languidly stretched out in massive tree branches.

You will also be able to spot other wildlife species in the region. You will have lunch en route and arrive at Bwindi in the early evening.

Day 11Gorilla trekking and Batwa trail experience

Your day’s wildlife safari adventure will begin when you report at the park headquarters for a briefing and necessary preparations before hitting the marked out trails to embark on a gorilla trekking excursion. Gorilla trekking is done in groups of eight and the trek lasts between 2-8 hours before encountering a habituated family.

Once you meet a family, you will spend an hour observing its members as they go about their routine in their habitat. You will be allowed to take photographs and capture videos during the experience. When the hour expires, you will hike back to the park headquarters. You will encounter a variety of wildlife and bird species in the forest.

Your wildlife safari adventure in Bwindi will also include a cultural trail – a visit to the native Batwa pygmy people. The Batwa are some time referred to as forest people, you will hear their story first-hand and watch them demonstrate their way of life.
